Another Sunny week at Little Kings & Queens nursery this week, as usual we have had lots going on in all the rooms, have a look at what the children have been doing.

Sensory Boxes

The Ruby room enjoyed their new sensory boxes. Sensory play enhances learning through hands-on activities that stimulate the child’s senses. This is a great way for children to explore the world they live in. It also supports language development, cognitive growth, fine and gross motor skills, problem solving and social interaction.

Yoga

Dance

The older children enjoyed their weekly dance class this week, they have so much fun.

Baby Dance

Some lovely pictures of the babies enjoying their dance class too.

Colours & Shapes

Colours and shapes are ways children observe and categorise what they see. These very recognisable characteristics encourage children to define and organise the diverse works around them.

Certificates

Roma from the diamond room spent a full day in Ruby room and received a well done certificate, we like to reward the children and show how proud we are when they do well.

Fathers Day

All the rooms have been busy making their Father’s Day gifts, ready for next weekend!

Role Play

The older children had some fun with imaginative play, they set up an ice cream shop. This provides the opportunity for the children to identify with the adult world and practise role play their understanding and interpretation. It also develops their social skills, practising negotiation action skills, turn taking and sharing.

Ice Cream Van

We had a surprise visit from the ice cream van today, as you can imagine the children were thrilled; it’s the quietest they’ve been in a long time!

Lolly-ices

The older children had lots of fun making healthy fruit Lolly ices, perfect for a sunny day.

Employee of the Month

Congratulations to Hannah from the Ruby Room who won Employee of the month!   well done!

Garden fun

All the children at Little Kings & Queens took full advantage of the lovely weather and had lots of fun in the gardens.

Cars & Crayons

The Emerald Room used cars with crayons attached to create some fun art. This was done to encourage the children that don’t normally go in the art area, it certainly got the boys attention.

Pizza

The Diamond Room helped prepare their own snacks, they did so well making pizza. this helps little ones develop fine motor skills and hand eye coordination. children learn by touching, tasting, feeling, smelling and listening, helping with food lets them use all their senses.
